How It Began

MEHOPE Foundation was never about starting an organization, it was about answering a call that couldn’t be ignore.

Founded by Miss May Ekayoda, MEHOPE grew out of a life of service. Long before its official launch, May was already deeply involved in outreach projects, supporting orphans, empowering women, and uplifting the elderly.

What began more than a decade ago as small, consistent acts of compassion has now grown into a fully registered foundation serving communities across Nigeria.

At the heart of May’s journey lies a steadfast commitment to compassion, clarity of vision, and an unwavering sense of purpose. Witnessing firsthand the struggles of widows, single mothers, orphans, and elderly women in her community, she felt a profound responsibility to act.

These early encounters were not just moments of kindness, they became the seeds that blossomed into what is now MEHOPE Foundation.

Guided by empathy and a deep desire to create lasting change, May envisioned a sanctuary for those often overlooked. She recognized that empowering marginalized women and safeguarding the well-being of children and the elderly would create a ripple effect of resilience and strength across generations.

Today, that same passion continues to drive every initiative MEHOPE leads—building hope, restoring dignity, and nurturing futures.
